Surface area is the AREA (not volume, volume=length X width X height)of a cube. Unfold cube (or any other rectangular prism) and measure the area (which is refered to as surface area, or how much 2D space it takes up.) The formula for it is as follows: (side + bottom or top + a different side) X 2. I don't think I am giving out the answer, just the formula.
