I was diagnosed in January 1974. I recently (December 7th) got an insulin pump. I have been having trouble making it work for me. The problem I seem to to be having is with the absorption into my body. When I change the sites it just doesn't work. My blood sugars go crazy and I'm never sure whether to asume that I've miscalculated carbs or that something is wrong with the pump/me.

I'm getting new insets tomorrow that are supposed to be inserted at angel, which I'm told could help me. I'm a small person but I don't think I'm that small. 5'3" and 125 lbs. Has anyone had this problem or knew of someone who has? I'm getting very discouraged. I was in the er today with my blood sugar topping out at 563.
