 MY SWEET INNOCENT FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DIAGNOSED TODAY WITH TYPE ONE DIABETES, AND IM NOT TAKIN IT WELL. SHE IS SO SWEET AND INNOCENT, HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? PLEASE OFFER WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, AS MY WIFE AND I WILL BE CARING FOR HER TIL SHES OLD ENOUGH TO DO IT ALONE. THANK YOU, AND PLEASE HELP. CHAD AND KRISTI ENGEBRETSON

I was diagnosed at age six, my parents were always there for me. Try and be supportive of her when she doesn't do everything right, it's really hard to stay "good" all the time.

I recently got an insulin pump and joined a group in my area where I met a woman who has had type 1 for 72 years. My daughter was really happy to hear about her, it gives hope for the rest of us dealing with it.
