Jakken woke up to a spear prodding between his eyes. He saw he was tied to a tree. This was all he needed to know.
Except.... "Mossyra!" Suddenly the spear flipped and the
spearbutt (non-pointy end) hit him between the eyes and he
went down. The last thing he heard before darkness claimed him was a high cruel laugh.
Mossyra saw him go down and tried to struggle, but the ropes were just too tight. "Oh, great. Vermin who know what they're doing." Until she remembered... The dagger she had slipped into her sleeve. But before she could reach for it...
"That squirrel's awake, your majesty." said a rough voice. A high, cold voice answered him and said, "Use the herbs." A strong smelling plant was shoved under her nose. She knew no more.
Swordling was frantic. It took nearly a score of dibbuns to hold her back. Tiltzie said, "Swordling, I am absolutely sure that this can be talked over rationally-" But Swordling screamed, "HOW CAN YOU SIT BACK AND TALK WHILE MY MOSSY IS MISSING!" At that point she ran into the forest, knocking dibbuns out of her way left and right in her haste to find Mossyra. Tarpin looked at Zotch. "Oh no."
Samkin was beyond hysteria. Mossyra, his Mossrya...gone. But he was prepared to "talk it over rationally". So they had a meeting in the midst of the ruined camp. "Has anyone got any idea of Mossyra or Jakken might be?" asked Tangle. "Well, don't get me bally wrong here, but I might have seen some hooded figures bending over them, wot wot? But I was being pushed over by that bally rascal Zotch, so I'm not sure." offered Tarpin. "How many times do I have to tell you, you windbag of a rabbit, that I was saving your skin!" Zotch stood up. "Here's what really happened...." Samkin knew this was going nowhere. So he sneaked off after Swordling.
