In the story Crime and Punishment, we find characters that are selfish, altuistic, and then we have Raskolnikov who at times can be both. I believe that Sonya is definitely not selfish. She saw her younger siblings suffering and she sacrificed her dignity and her body to help feed them. I believe this to be the action of a true heroin. Anyone who makes it their duty to provide/ protect someone(her siblings) who can't yet fend for themselves should be considered a hero.Even though her father steals the money she earns, the deed is not done in vain.
