Immediately after the changeover, Hong Kong people generally believe that the promises of "One country, Two systems" and "Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong" have realized, owing to the self-restrained, less-apparent and minimal participation of the Chinese government in our internal affairs.
But, in fact, the "political winter" of Hong Kong is now approaching. The recent accusation on "Fat Kun Kung", the treatment towards the trip of Mainland dissident Ko Hang Kin, a nobel prize winner in Literature, the resignation of Anason Chan and the like, all these have indicated the "genuine handover" has soon begun.
What we need to do at the moment is to fight against similar trend of political retrogression. Even though Hong Kong people would care less about these political issues, it concerns with moral principle, political conscience and the fate of our future.
If we don't cry, who cries? If you don't care, who cares? Otherwise, we will be the next victims of political persecution under Article 23 of the Basic Law.
