Subject: Sporting Biography

Hi! My name is Kevin Simms and I come from Philadelphia PA. I am a junior Kinesiology major here and hope to become involved in sport psychology when I graduate. Recently I have become more of a passive spectator when it comes to watching sports, and I think the reason behind that is because watching sporting events has become a time to relax and enjoy the game. I use to play baseball in high school and was much more of an active spectator when I was closer to the sport. Another explanation for my passive spectating, I believe, stems from my father who is also, and has always been, a passive spectator. I am a fan of all Philadelphia teams just as my father is. I have a theory that whatever teams your parents root for will be the teams you root for. In a sense, we learn who to root for from what we see as we grow up. Maybe sports spectating follows the same path?
