Subject: sporting biography by Dara Bruckner

Hey everyone, my name is Dara Bruckner. I am a sophomore KNES major at UMD. I am from Great Neck, New York. At first when choosing this major i wanted to be a physical therapist, but now i want to be a doctor for a sports team. Sports has played a major role in my life since i was practically born. My dad and older brother are huge sports fans, especially when it comes to the Knicks, so i have been watching Patrick Ewing and John Starks since i could remember. When i was only seven years old i could tell you every stat for every Knick player. From age six until about two years i figure skated. I also played in Little League for two years. It was not until I was in sixth grade when I tried out for the basketball team and made it. I was on it for all three years in middle school. One of the greatest times in my life was in 8th grade when we won our league championship. Then I went to High School where I played basketball for all four years. I also played intramural hockey throughout freshman and sophomore year. Sports have made a huge impact on my life and is why I chose to be a KNES major.
