Subject: Sporting Biography

Hello everyone. My name is Pat O'Brien and I am a new transfer student at the University of Maryland. I am majoring in kinesiology and one day hope to become a stength and conditioning coordinator/coach at the professional level in sports. Sports have a lways been a huge part of my life. I have played it all from football to golf with baseball being my passion. my parents always made sure to keep me involved in sports year round never pushing me into playing but teaching me the benefits that come out of playing on a team. I feel that the sporting experiences that I had as a youngster help mold the person I am today by teaching me team work, discipline, and sportsmanship while helping to shape my character. I am a very competitive person and no matter what I am playing I want to win. I am not a sore loser but, I love to win and I play to win. I feel that sports are a huge part of our society and culture. Sports are a way for people to get out and to release and have fun. Without sport, our society and our culture, I feel , would be very boring.
