Subject: Sporting Bio

Hey everyone. My name's Dan Beren. Sports have been a part of my life for a long time. I have competed in baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, sailing, tennis, and football. I played baseball and football at the varsity levels in high school (Gilman, Baltimore) and sailed in competitions such as the North American Off-Shore One-Designs (National Championships). I am an active spectator here for my beloved Terps and do go to the occasional Ravens game, but mostly don't go back to actively spectate. As far as the Terps go, I also post frequently on the Terrapin Times message board, www.terrapintimes.com, which is part of the Rivals network, if anyone knows about it. I post under the handle thebigtexas, in case anyone goes on there and is a member of the premium board. I passivly spectate just about every sport in one way or another. I follow to a degree almost every sport that would be considered popular here in the U.S. I also sport some clothing around, i.e. - hats, throwbacks, and some recent jerseys. I also weight lift and go bowling for leisure, but do get quite competetive with my friends. That's about all I can think of. I'm looking forward to meeting most of this sememster.

-- Dan Beren
