Yes there is a slight difference, I do not know the manufacturer of the projector itself, however it is different. In the e46 3 series, when the high beam is activated, it produces a pencil beam like light down the road, where as in the 7 series, it keeps the extra wide low beam pattern and them adds a very high and wide high beam pattern, its looks like a hexagon, when you are close to a wall thats what is looks like and the further you get away the bigger it gets. Tell me if this helps!
