Subject: Explanation; Please Read

We would like to apologize for the loss of the Illinois Community Theater Message Board due to cyber-vandalism.

Several months ago a similar message board hosted by another respectable organization was forced to shut down when it was discovered that one of the staff in charge of maintaining the integrity and good taste of that board was actually responsible for a series of vulgar, insulting. criminally libel posts attacking individuals in our community behind the disguise of multiple online aliases.

In response to the loss of this valuable tool for the community, we banded together to put together our own Illinois Community Theater Message Board to fill the void left by that person's selfish actions.

The former message board that had been destroyed by the misuse by one of its internal trusted staff has been restored with that staff member still in blushing innocent power.

By absolute coincidence, our message board was hacked into last week and destroyed.

We are a group of theater enthusiasts trying to provide a service to our community of actors. We are not computer professionals like the type who can hack into other's systems to make sure only one voice exists of opinions.

We apologize but we do not have the resources or expertise to combat someone with computer expertise and a personal mission to use the Internet as a means of attacking the people she doesn't like.

We thank those who used this board for its planned purposes. We thank all those who worked so hard behind the scenes to keep a community theater message board a reality when no other alternative was avaialbe. We apologize that we no longer have the technical ability to protect the innocent from persecution of one woman's individual agenda. We wish you all luck. Be careful.
