For some reason, I saved this crazy email. I'm posting it here just to give a voice to Ann here at the message board. It's all I can do for her at the moment. It is from 2 years ago, but it sure hits home. ^!^

Hi, Karen! Man, it's been a long time since we "talked"! Tough year? I'm here, if you ever want to share. I'm sorry 2009 was difficult for you! Darn it - you work so hard and you're such a sweetheart - "tough year" shouldn't even show up in your world. *shakes fist at the sky*

I'm working full-time/temporary at H&R Block, and I love it. I'm in the basement. *g* I proof tax returns for signatures, then I e-file them, scan them, and file the hard copies. Lately, they've been giving me more work (TYPING. Like, on a typewriter.) Cutting out green stars and pasting encouraging blurbs on them (it's a Block promotional thing - sorta like rallying the troops, although I can think of a lot of things more rallying than a green star.) Feh.

Anyway, I love it, and it's paying the bills, so I'm pretty content. Is there anything I can do to make your situation better? Like sell a zillion copies of my book and send you money? I would, you know. I'd be the world's fastest broke millionaire.

I wish I could say that gone are the days of writing LFN fan-fiction, but sometimes, Michael just kicks me in the muse and I feel like I have to do a drabble or something. Wish I had more time for it. Oh - and last year, I went a little nuts and signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month.) A 50,000 (or more) word novel in a month. I did it, and what a feeling of accomplishment! Fortunately, the challenge is about quantity, not quality, but once the challenge ended, the website offered the option of editing the novel for possible publication. I would have jumped at the chance, but "Life-Dance" was already in the midst of the editing process.

Still, I have a couple of unfinished works that might have promise, once I tweak them, rewrite entire chapters, tear my hair out, kick a brick wall (break several toes, pay a visit to the E.R., get painkillers, zone out at random times, and swear never to write again...) *Headbonk*

Karen, you're good for me - I think my muse has a crush on you...

Do you have Yahoo IM? I'm Cynaera45. Just in case you want to chat.

Love you, dear friend,
Ann

Ann, a BOOK??? Published!!!

Congratulations! You are an inspiration. Maybe I'll get off my duff and finish my trilogy.

You Go Girl!

Happy New Year. Tough year for me, but we can catch up soon.

hugs, KT ^!^
