is definitely heavily influenced by the first communities you come into contact with. In my case, I started out surrounded by fellow TRs, because in my initial internet searches I had specifically been looking for Madeline-oriented information. Not surprisingly, the first thing that came up on google was the AW site. It was HUGE, with episode transcripts and screencaps and fanfic and its own message board full of other Madeline fans, so it was really one-stop-shopping for all things TR.
I saw no real need to branch out to other areas of the fandom until much, much later. But even so, I still very rarely visit sites/boards that aren't either TR-oriented or devoted to fanfic. I'll look at them every so often just to see what's going on, but I've never felt a part of those communities. I guess it shows that even in very small fandoms like LFN there is more segregation than one might expect.
