Come ON. This is being produced by an offshoot of Warner Brothers, the mega-corporation who owned the rights to the original LFN series and didn't even know it, and then let it slide through their fingers! Now, they're trying to resurrect a "new and improved" La Femme Nikita, hoping that the new generation of viewers will bite?

This is just wrong. Anyone who was a fan of the LFN series with Roy Dupuis and Peta Wilson knows that nothing will ever come close to the quality of work produced by those folks involved in the series. Peter Lenkov (one of the writers for the original La Femme Nikita) has moved on to be one of the producers and writers for the new "Hawaii Five-O" series. Doug MacRae, who did the storyboards for the original La Femme Nikita, has published several comic strips, and his wife is expecting their second child in April. Sean Callery, the guy who wrote the original score for La Femme Nikita, has been working on "24" and several other projects.

The alumni of LFN have moved on, thank goodness. They had the foresight to abandon the Warner Brothers ship before it sank them.

Yes, I'm bitter and angry. People shrug and say, "Well, that's just the way things are." And that's why the world is in chaos. People shrug and say, "I don't care." "I don't have any power." "It's all meant to be."

For a year, back in 1998, I learned that collective voices DO have power. It requires work, time, thought, and sacrifice. I'm older now, and I don't have the stamina to do what I did back in 1998 or so (working a full-time job, taking care of five cats, paying bills, mowing lawns, and being a member of First Team) - but I still believe that apathy is a killer.

I pick my battles now, and they're mostly financial ones, not political ones. If given the chance to resurrect First Team to fight for a better LFN, I'd decline, of course. But I'd lend my very limited expertise, based on my time as a charter member. Because now I know who to trust.
