I understand, for example, that for those who enjoy them the LOTR commentaries utterly and totally rock.

I've never listened to those either....I don't *want* to hear Peter Jackson talk while I watch his film.

As for the LFN DVDs: I've thoroughly enjoyed mine - the packaging is nice and solid and the eps look and sound great - far better, universes better, than the handful of ratty taped episodes I had. They look really fantastic, actually. Far better for example, than the DVDs for the first season of "Silk Stalkiings" - which I also have. Now, I love that show - but the quality of the DVD, in terms of the quality of the color and sound in the actuall episodes, is not nearly as nice as with LFN.

As for Chris Heyn's book - that I proabably *won't* read. Again, I don't really need to hear what TPTB or anyone else was up to during filming - that can actually diminish my enjoyment of their product. *shrugs*

Everyone is different with regards to how they treat the creators. I've been watching the storms in some fanfic circles following some of JKR's comments on her latest HP book - and honestly, that captures exactly why I don't seek out such stuff!
