I think such a book, should it ever appear, would be interesting in the sense of giving us lots of info about the behind-the-scenes making of a series.

However, nothing Chris Heyn could tell us would change canon. He can explain that TPTB had decided all sorts of things about the characters or their backgrounds or whatever -- but if it didn't actually wind up in an episode, as far as I'm concerned it doesn't count.

I'm curious enough to be willing to read the book, but I'd probably rather borrow it from someone for a one-time read than go to the trouble of buying it. That is, if it ever gets in people's hands in the first place.
