I think Paul would have been dead earlier under either scenario. If he'd died during New Regime and Madeline was transferred elsewhere, she may well have survived into the long term. But if Operations lived through New Regime, yes, Madeline most definitely would have died when taken hostage. In a much more heroic and nobler way than she otherwise died, one might say.

So...yes, I'm saying that Nikita unwittingly prolonged their lives and definitely Operations' command over Section One.
