I talked with Terry last night - she's feeling a little disappointed by UWM and perhaps thinking I'm making a bad move - but is supportive of process at least. I'm going to be very curious to see how this changes assuming my program starts to pull off.

As for tjm's reflections - it is pretty amazing where we go and how we get here. not sure it's more than serendipity in some sense - or perhaps what we perceive as accident is really purpose and demands a little more respect than we give. the challenges are substantive, but i'm looking forward to ending my career here at the moment.

a huge disappointment that we have no free rec passes - as a matter of fact it would cost about $40/mo for the family. Not much money, but certainly not convenient for dan, tom, or geo. Not to mention - we like to exercise outside even through winter. we do get discounts on athletics tickets though, and tom has already taken to watching whether the panthers win on the weekend. UWM has good basketball at the moment, but also really strong baseball and soccer.

i'll set up office cam in a couple of weeks....
