Duh, my name is Albert Andersen, and I have nothing better to do than post on this website under my intelligent and amazingly sexy friend Mike's name.

I'm a big fat lame-o, and I wear the same stupid hat every single day. I don't deserve the infinite kindness that my wonderful friend Mike has shown me over the many many years I have had the pleasure of basking in his presence. I'm gonna go do something that is undoubtedly lame, like fraud.

Besides, if you're going to rampantly insult me in response to actions that were utterly harmless, the least you could do is be witty about it.

Eh, I suppose I may have taken it too far. But being over-the-top is where great humor is made! And both Ben and Aaron (and myself, I might add) found it funny. Considering that no harm was done (unless you took it at all seriously) I consider it a success. Given the ratio of work required to write my response to the enjoyment I recieved out of writing it, making it witty might have actually made it less enjoyable for me. I am sorry that you seem as bugged by it as you are. It was of course in jest, and I attempted to make up for the previously stated lack of wit and originality by making it as extreme and over the top as possible (a la American Pie and other movies in the teen comedy genre).

For the record of any third-party person who may have wandered into this forum by mistake, I will simply state that there is a reason that I have been friends with Albert for many years, and it has nothing to do with his singing of my praises (although it is never too late for him to start) ;-)

I suppose that the biggest issue here is one of taste in humor. While I agree that Over-the-Top is, in general, a good thing, it is mostly when pointed in a good direction. There's OtT action (which results in films like "Equilibrium" or just about any Jackie Chan movie), OtT Raunchy ("American Pie"), or Well-done OtT Slapstick (see many films from the 1920s).

Then there's OtT Stupid, which, in my experience, simply results in more stupid (see many Chris Farley or early Jim Carrey movies). I never liked those movies. I honestly don't think I would have found your post funny even if it wasn't directed at me. If you want to test that, feel free to write one for someone else and I'll give you my reaction. ;-)

I actually considered writing a "Duh, I'm stupid" post as my initial comment about spoofing, but then decided that it really wouldn't be worth it, because they're dumb. I decided that I would much rather rely on the inherent irony of spoofing a comment about spoofing.

I care more about seeing what happens when the amount of tabbing in the forum index reaches far enough that I could theoretically make the window too small to see it all, so I will continue to post.
