The logic that simply labeling an object "steal this object" makes it okay to steal seems specious. In the case of the original book, the book itself expressed the wish to be stolen, and was purchased with the knowledge of the purchaser (though he may not have fully thought through the implications). On the other hand, by writing in instructions to steal the book, and then proceeding to do so, you are following your own wishes, not necessarily those of the book.

It's analogous to sticking someone with a Kick Me sign, and then immediately using that as justification to kick them. Neither proper nor just.
