Her progress was halted at the sight of the chestnut mare trying to get close to her father. With an indignant snort, the splotchy mare picked up her pace, eyes snapping in anger. Barely concealed contempt rose in the mare's eyes before the emotion was buried from sight. A much more gentle expression crossed her visage as she greeted her parents.

"Hello Daddy. Hi Mama."
