Her heart would forever beat to the rhythm of their names, these horses she had loved so well. Lost, all of them, to death or worse. Birth, travel, hunter, humans and horseflesh. The small chestnut sighed and refreshed in her mind the list of threats to her only remaining son, straining nervously toward the territory boarders once more. Let him go, her heart insisted.
