- She listened carefully, restraining all emotions until Ciri had finished. The depth of the filly's anger shook the older mare, the thought that she had had a part in her sister's rage unsettled her. Unconciously mimicking Ciri's actions, she inhaled slowly, preparing for a talk that had been a long time coming -

Ciri, I can't deny that I was furious with Fusion. That mare was trouble from the start. She waited until Mom died and then made a grand appearance, wanting to "comfort" Dad. And when I confronted her about it, she had her evil brother jump in to attack me. I couldn't sit idly by and let her weave a spell of lies over you and Dad. I had to make sure that she knew she wasn't wanted here. Dad's been through enough without having to deal with a power-hungry wench.

- Her eyes flared in anger, her tones growing more heated as she spoke of the chestnut mare that she despised. Catching herself, she stopped her tirade and returned to Ciri's points -

As for Dad... He loved Mom so much. It is understandable that he is devastated now that she's gone. I would think that he'd have snapped out of it by now, but he's getting worse. You're right -- he doesn't see us anymore. He doesn't see anything except for his memories and his pain. But I don't believe that the Grove is falling apart. And as long as I'm around, our family won't fall apart either. We'll get through to Dad eventually. He can't stay so out of it forever.

- Her eyes misted over briefly before her iron will stamped out the weakness. Her sister was upset... this was not the time to fall apart. But Ciri was correct on many points. Their father was deteriorating rapidly right before their very eyes. What could the splotched fae do? She had no clue, but something had to happen, otherwise Ciri's fear would come true. Their family would completely fall to pieces -
