Hearing the much-loved, familiar voice, the faded mare brought her head up, ebony strands of her forelock falling to obscure her clouded vision. A weak, shaky smile tried valiantly to mark her lips with minimal success; the expression lasting only a fleeting moment before falling away.

- Where should I start? - she murmured sardonically, scratchy voice wavering. Shaking her head to clear her sight, she sighed. It wasn't her father's fault she was in this predicament. She had brought it all upon herself.

- Everything's a mess. - she tried again, trying to put into words what was slowly killing her. - You have seen as well as I have. The Grove is dead. No one, outside of us, lives among the boundaries. My mate, Taojin, seems to have abandoned me. And Ciri... - The alabaster mare paused, unsure if she should continue. Truth be told, Ciri was dead to her. The betrayal had been too much to ever repair. And such a tragedy. Besides Cole, Ciri was the only link Misa had to her past... a past filled with love and happiness, a complete family, a full herd. Choosing not to continue, she turned tortured eyes on her father, tears welling up and threatening to spill down her hollowed features.
