Hi E-team! I hope you are well and that you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did! I had a brief think about mounts to the neck while one person is standing and if you have a look at the swedish freestyle from the WEG in 2002, there is two of them that look cool. Not the one that we were talking about in training either (Sarah W i think?) but two others, so in total there should be at least 3 to get inspiration from. Hope you find it - if not, i have the video of the 2002 freestyle on my computer so tell me and i'll get you a copy.

As for the stuff I promised you all (strategies etc.), it is coming soon!

Cirque du Soleil -- Jenny Croft, 17:57:43 01/15/05 Sat

Hi Folks,

Cirque du Soleil is coming to Britain. If you don't know what that is, it's a French Canadian circus, that is the most incredible gymnastics show you could ever imagine. The music has been used loads in vaulting, Liz has used it, Becca Townsend, Me, Hazel, International folk etc. I think it's a show not to be missed by any vaulter and would make a great group trip!

It's on in Birmingham from Feb 24th to March 13th. Tickets are from £17 to £39. Definately worth at least checking the internet site, www.cirquedusoleil.com

You can find all relevant info there, incl ticket sales and a sneak preview video! We are all going to head down last wknd of Feb!

Sanna called tonight and she will be with us at 10 ish on Saturday. So training all day and Sunday morning please till 1. Really sad i missed xmas training, sounds like u had fun! Lissy i cant believe you dont know how to make coffee!!
My bday was v fun (uuuuugggghhhhh), still was hungover on monday at oxford - which was so so so scary! Bought my very first legal drink on tuesday, really exciting!
Im home now - so coming to training next weekend i cant wait (pretty out of shape-havent done sport for ages!may be interesting!)
Cant wait to see everyone n catch up - sarah is it ok if i come to the cinema on saturday night? got u a fab present!

hope u all had a gr8 time at the christmas vaulting wkend. i had a really gud time, even though i got injured, thanks 4 luking after me ding dong! my backs better, but sore, nly had one part today where cudn't really move, that wz just!
thanks to watson mum and dad 4 food, wz lovely, and 2 rich (and drew) 4 letting us take over the house and putting up wiv us! the horsies 4 putting up with us in the cold! and of course julie 4 putting up with everything! Love u!

its the barrel comp on saturday followed by have a go for the other groups. The team is training on sunday at 10 am. We aren't vaulting both days every weekend just now and then. Liz

Fireworks were absolutely great.
thanks to julie for letting us have tea at your house with u, it was scrummy!
Thanks to Nikki also 4 letting us stay at the yard in the caravan, it was really fun.
Hope u all like the barrel. it'll b great to have an extra barrel to practise on before going on to do your bit in the comp and just 4 pracising on!
It's my b'day on the 28th of Nov and so I will bring some cake down the day before which is a saturday.

how was the weekend? did i miss the sit up bleep test? and how was the fireworks? i went with my friends to the big peterborough one but we didn't want to pay for it so we ended up walking over a hill and sitting in a cabbage field which smelt really bad. and it rained the whole time!
what's the drink beggining with E thing? i can't come next weekend. will we have training on sunday after the barrel competition? and will there be training for the other teams after the barrel comp again?

Although my attempt at a freestyle was barely more than appalling, it wasn't marked as per the criteria! It doesn't affect me, but just thought some of you might want to check over it to get practising for mext year!

Hi everyone,

Just to say well done and thanks very much to all for your help and support at the weekend, thanks to the driver - Wendy, to parents for their support at home and to Liz, Liz and Bill for support at Lanark. To all the kids who vaulted really well, very pleased with the compulsory improvement. Thanks to B for looking after you all he enjoyed a day out in the field today, massive special thanks to Herbie for being so good and well behaved and getting such good scores, I watched the video today - 1st before any of you ! Ha! Thanks Bill, Herbie looked really good, I'm very pleased with him. He had a day in the field too and Tiny had to have a day off from her holiday and look after the new little ones, but they did vault very well on her. Good end to the year every one, gives us plenty of time to sort out a freestyle.
Thanks again to all of you, see you at the barrel comp next week.

Saturday we start at 11am, comps on horse and work out kur on barrel, Sunday is kur (hopefully on horse!).

Yes you can stay but the carvans are full, so your staying at Julie's as she and mac will be away saturday night as he is doing fireworks.

Make sure you bring some layers as it is meant to be miserbale this weekend and if you have a copy of the freestyle music please bring it with you as the one that we had at yard seems to have disappeared.

Did you all get home ok? i do hope so. Everyone that stayed at Suzis had a great time when we got home. In my group there is a girl called Denise Newsome form Liv!!! Thought it was really funny that I came all the way to USA and found a girl that knows you and knows all about vaulting! Hi everyone,

Well Done on sat u all did good, thanks to the Eccles (and ross) for making the trip down, was great to have u guys there and glad u got back safe and well.

Ararate arrived on tuesday minus his luggage, which he isnt very pleased about and have left him without vaulting shoes or catsuit! Calls to spain have been made to get stuff sent over but we're not sure it will make it in time, So we may have to get him in a EVS one, not sure he will be too inpressed!!! But thats easyjet for you! Though we all know vaulters should always have the vital kit in hand luggage as prevention is better than cure. His freestyle is changed again and he has some amazing new moves which u'll see sat.

Tiny is looking partically smart thanks to Clair who has done a fine job once again clipping her for us today. The stars have mutiplied as we have eleven smaller ones this time to the 7 before!


All those coming on saturday, think we have to be there about 10.30am so we can (if we have it) watch the video from sat and scrutise ourselves! Then barrel it and then go to stoneleigh as they want us there early about 2pm and then were not on till 4-5ish! But we will just have to educate ourselves in some proper dressage in the gap.

Hi all,
Thanks for a great day yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Fen End and the hospitality we received. Got home at midnight having driven through some torrential rain. Baroque was delighted to see his stable again although it didn't quite match up to the standard of the one he had on Saturday night. He also wasn't over impressed seeing Toni again having had three mares for company the previous evening. Hope you have all recovered from the competition especially Julie after all her hard work. Hope to see you all at Lanark in October. Thanks also to Nikki for her hospitality and the lovely kebabs. Apologies again to her from us tripping her power!!!!

Hi guys, this is just a big thanks 2 everyone that was at camp, cos i had so much fun, even tho i found it really hard u all kept me going, especially julie and sarah.w so thanks loads!!!

well done everyone at the champs, again i had a really fun time and quite amazed with my score, now its sunk in!!! well done 2 the ickle ones, zoe,steph,sara u did great guys!

Hmm, good evenin' all.

Congratulations on past successes and good luck for future events.

I stumbled across your website about a week ago in an attempt to find some useful information on vaulting. I did find some on your site in the form of the dates of the Championships in Aberystwyth in August, and noted them in my head. While on holiday I asked my mum if we could go just to watch and she thought yus, we might.

So then when we got home Jane, who went to something at Gleneagles and promptly decided to try it out on us, had sent me an email say that Beca (Morgan) had offered to lend us Guinness for the competition. So it looks like we're going anyway.

So, shall probably come and watch and say hello or whatever. Just don't come and watch us 'cuz we're not much good... Yet... :)

Hey guys, again well done to all!

Just to let you all no, (dont think i told you already!) My daddy has decided against the worlds this year, we dont have a 4th horse thats good enough, so instead were doin the rest of the English season with the baby team. . . very funny. We went to a comp last weekend and they were all gr8! although its kinda hard to unstick everything when we managed to get the two back horses stuck either side of a fence!lol. just had some big strong men come and unstick us! lol. and the water 'hazard' was a similar big strong men come and help us situation, but cuz me daddys so in love with the baby horses he just laughed! (very good as far as im concerned!)Although we did all this, we still came 4th out of 10 on the marathon, and we wernt even trying (really wernt) so should be good for the future!

REALLY looking forward to seeing you all again at camp! (sorry guys, i am coming bk!) Started doing sit ups . . . OW!! AHHHHH SOOOOOOO excited!

Hey everyone, we had a great time in Nitre! Luci yes it was very scary, especially as we had to run in as number 1 and 2!!! It all sorta went ok though, except the pad was really really slippy. Tomm (the horse)was lovely, but had funny canter which was hard to stand on the first time. But after we got used to it it was fine.
SEVT were great and really made us feel really welcome! Thanks you guys! I think me and Lissy might have starved without them. Lol.
Oh yeah there was only one other problem...Suzi I'm really really sorry but just before I ran in for freestyle I put the Venus catsuit on really quickly and the zip broke!!! Luckily Jane Eccles had some safety pins with her so I didnt have to run in with the catsuit falling off my shoulders!!! Mums going to get another zip and fix it some time, I'm really sorry I broke it though!

Busy People ! -- Julie, 22:19:10 07/13/04 Tue

Hi busy people,

Well done Lissi and Sarah at Nitra last weekend and thanks to Jettie for taking them and to the Slovakian Horse and to the SEVT who entertained them and fed them several times! You both did really well and i'm very proud of you.

I haven't had time to say well done to Lucy, Liz, Sarah, John and Ararat for performing so well in Munich - what a trip!! I just realised today we have 17 days before we go to Austria and I haven't had time to wash the bandages and boots from Germany. Mucked out one of the boxes today and found a mouse eating the horse treats B and Tiny were given in Munich - Fat dog couldn't catch it and it got away - at least the rugs are still in one piece!!

See you all on Saturday at 2 pm. Ararat back on Monday, Aska back on Friday. Keep working hard !

well we've all been busy, well done to all that went to munich, i had a fab time and everyone did really good.

Well done to all again at nitra, i have only heard bits but from what i can make out u all did good, i hear SEVT were 2nd, thats fab! well done.
And well done lissy and sarah at ur first international....bet it was scary but i hear u both performed really good and u had a lovely horse. Hope u enjoyed ur selves.

also well done to julie and mac for the fabulous fireworks once again! I hear u did a fab job shame i missed it but i'm afriad i couldnt get out of my trip down south, but i had fab time too.

when are we next vaulting, there was some talk about wed but i cant make it i dont think as am at HT unless it is later on?, so is it sat? and is it 1pm or 2pm.??

I started trainin again on thursday (as it was the 1st!) and so hope fully by the time i start trainin again in 5 weeks i'll be fit enough to get on the horse.

I had a dream the other night and we were all trainin at my house and there were loads of random vaulters who were vaulters but not EVS. And evryone was like vaulting PERFECTLY and then i couldnt even canter on the correct leg with the horse! and i was like Sara's size . . . couldnt even get hold of the handle. and had like MAJOR trouble when I had a bunk off SARAH WATSON. . . that hasnt happened since like 98! he he! very funny. Woke up a bit nervous though! lol. Watch me now i wont even be able to get my fat behind on the horse!

And i can come up and vault this weekend (ive managed to get out of crowd control at downe) - but i cant get a train that gets in on sat until around 1.45. Would someone be able to pick me up from leamington station around then and take me back at around 5.45 on sunday? If its a problem then no worries.

I finally found the website! I visited the stables and the training facilities a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed on how well that these athletes (Well they seemed trained to such a high standard!) performed and were so professional around the horses. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and seemed to improve there and then. I was only there for a few hours and was well impressed

I wish i had the time to do something like Vaulting! (Too Heavy and Stressed with work, Uni and just balancing life though!)

Just looked at your results for europe over the last few weeks!!!! Well done all of you!

And thanx to Sarah W & Julie for letting me go to the evening meal that night!

Hiya everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks Liz for updating the web site so well and so quickly! Check out the events page ! Lovely photos of you all and the ponies! Tiny not gone back to the college yet and they don't seem to have noticed so I might just try and keep her for a little longer Vaulting at 2 on Saturday, I'm working so dont be too early. Planning on doing a Vaulting badge day on Saturday the 1st of May and Wittering coming along too.

Also on Saturday the 1st of May we will be having a celebration for a very special person who is 18 on May the 4th. Cake and pop will be served at 4pm and I think it would be nice for you all to bring him a carrot or an apple as he's so special.

I'm also contemplating holding a camp in the summer holidays, can you give me dates when you can't attend.

Hi guys

just to say all is fine and am in one piece. I did compete in end today, but dont worry i was all strapped up etc etc. rhubarb was great, the dressage was a sea of mud, like i never seen before, couldnt even go down track at side as so deep, and canter on centre line was a joke!! But he jumped well SJ (which also bog!) and Xcountry he was fab, but they were mean and gave me 20 for crossing my tracks....(which i didnt). but all good practise for ireland.

Hope training went good today, fraid i wont be around for a bit, mounting and mill is currently banned! hee hee i have a valid excuse for rubbish mill now!!

I hear the twinnies did a fab job teaching down south, well done girls.

All home ok, but lorry is ill :(
Its funny how we make all way to saumur and back in that old one and get home and the nice one dies!!! though it was on way back from service so little man who did it is a bit red faced i think!!!

So been driving round all day in borrowed lorry to fetch rhu and annie from their holiday homes they been at all week.

Hope u got that lorry back to wiltshire julie, bet u've seen enough of motorways through that windscreen!!! hope all scottish people got home ok.

Well done to all, team, individuals, horses, lungers etc etc.

PS having looked at the saumur website, we seem to have got loads of good pictures, but that one of ararate one handed handstand is fantastic!!! While i am not a fan of his leotards praps that will persaude him that the saturday one was a lot better than the sunday one which was ...urm ..interesting!

All back safe -- julie, 22:01:52 04/13/04 Tue

Hiya everyone,

As man on the yard states, we all got back yesterday, the sun was shining and Tiny and B shared a precious hour out in the field. The Vaulters cleaned out the lorry for me and I took it back this morning with Emma navigating for me and we got lost! Tiny and B managed to have all morning out in the paddock with the sun on their backs, they looked wonderful. David came to see Tiny this afternoon, he had followed progress on the internet and was very proud of her. Blake Dahlgrens mum is sending me a video as soon as poss, we'll have to have a video night and watch it.

Very proud of everyone, Lucy expertly trotted up both horses for us, they looked great. B was the oldest horse there and he looked magnificent. You would all have been really proud of Aska, she was very nervous but held it all together well and several people came up to me and said how good her freestyle looked. I was very pleased with all of mine, dissapointed with Lucy's injury but that's sport ! Kim and her husband came to support us on sunday. Wish you could have seen Ararat, the audience loved him! He won a lovely bridle and a horse measuring stick for me that goes upto 19 hands so we can really see how tall Tiny is now.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday at 11. Nice easy session for the horses but plenty to do nevertheless. Lots of new ideas for the not too distant future. Everyone should be there, I think Emzie might be back, if you fly her though, make sure you don'y hurt the sunburn !!!!!

Ronald over on May the 8th, he went very well at Saumur and sends his best wishes to you all. No twins or Lucy this weekend, just me to nag you so see you all then !

Well all back safely, horses out in field and enjoyed some grass.

Unfortuately rich seems to have got abit confused and it wasnt as exciting as it sounds, all that happen was the top lucy was wearing dropped abit but wasnt that interesting as she had two tops on undernealth and meant she just looked abit funny cause she did trot up one handed, while holding her jacket with the other hand. But as she's such a pro one handed is not a problem!! Sorry to dissapoint, and sorry to embrass u on the net ding dong. Well done all.

Well done to all in saumur, souinds brilliant all british did so good, and well done to our foreign friends too.

saumur morning 2 -- man on the yard, 10:00:21 04/09/04 Fri

this morning both horses tiny amd bowler were presented for vetting. both of them flew down the trot up and are now passed to compete this weekend. yeah. tiny did more than fly down the trot up though. she turned at the end of her walk and bucked into trot. which resulted in a boob popout for poor lucy bell. oh well i sure the vets wernt bothered.
they train this afternoon so keep you posted

saumur day 1 -- man on the yard, 23:23:41 04/08/04 Thu

hello to all i will try to keep everyone upto date with all the goings on in saumur as i hear them. The lorry left here last night with the very excited group of julie, lucy, pippa and jon on board. And of course tiny, bowler and lemon!(whom arrived earlier from scotland). Aska, Nikki and Sarah left here en route to saumur early this morning.
Horses arrived in saumur late this morning. Tiny got off the lorry chilled as normal and as julie informed me bowler got off the lorry like a two year old! non the wear for the travelling. Unfortunately though lemon didnt have such a good journey and shortly after getting of the lorry a little stressed went down with colic. The vet was called out and thankfully he is a lot better now but uncertain now about whether he will compete or not. Keep you posted. All horses settled for the night when i just spoke to julie. Whom herself a little less than settled and very nervous over the days ahead. Lets just hope she can get some well earned sleep. Thats all for now write again soon. Rich -x-

GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE GOIN TO SAUMUR, WISH I COULD BE THERE IN PERSON TO CHEER U ON BUT THATS SEEMS A BIT UNREALISTIC AT THE MOMENT LOL!!!!!
Just to let the team know that i haven't, given up completely as people might think and as the website states , i am jus clearing some bills from last year which as you all no is alot for me as i never kept up to date!! But as soon as i have done that i will be coming back!!!! Im still as eager to vault as i always was and i am DEFINATELY not ready to quit!! I am still keeping fit so im not a big oath yetlol I am trying my hardest workin to get some money sent down so i will hopefully be able to cum and see u all again soon and get back into the swing of things!!!

Hi everyone-Good Luck in Saumur!
Glad to find that this site publishes results from the recent competitions. Thanks and well done.
Hevesh has decided that he would like to retire and so we are giving it a trial run until the summer...his arthritis has been a problem to him this winter. He looks great and lives a priviliged lifestyle.
Hazel now a qualified fitness instructer, also of sports massage.
Jen lambing in Wales and up to her armpits in...well you do not really want to know.
Anyway will be thinking of you all, looking forward to hearing how you got on.

Just wanted to say Happy Easter to everyone. Ararat has gone back to Spain today, will see him at Saumur. Tiny had a very well deserved day out in the field while I was clipping B.
