Kartel is heavy, which is good, but he lacks some style in my opinion. While he can push it hard with tracks like "Tattoo" and "Sweet to the belly", he falls a bit short if he lets the tempo drop.
I'm sure he'll be at the top for the next few years, more I don't know. He's definately there to compete with the rest of them, though his sound is similar to his mentor Bounty Killer.

I must admit though, I find the sheer volume of material they all put out pretty overwhelming. They seem to do a new track every day or 2, and Kartel released another album only 3 months after his first! That's unheard of in rock music, and most other things.

I guess he's one of my favourite DJs around right now. BK is always good, so is Capleton, but Elephant Man is inconsistent. Beenie Man and Sizzla can be great, but they spend half the time slipping into reggae stuff. There are lots of random people I need to hear more of, like Predator, Assassin, Ninja Man, Alozade, Mad Cobra, Lexxus. I have Ward 21's album, they've got more of a sense of humour than the rest of them.
