Subject: Proserpexa's look

Now that Raven is chosen and her look is done, P.S. an amazing graphic is up at the web site, its amazing, I think we should pick the four horsemen and Proserpexa, I have to suggestions for her look. Lets not rush into her look though as she is a "HUGE big bad" so lets just keep our options open and keep looking, the two below are my suggestions.

Taking her look into a different direction, I think Proserpexa should mainly have a human look, like how vamps can switch in and out of forms, that she stays in until the end of the season. I don't know, I just think it's more interesting that way, like the Mayor. Not in the sense that she's human, but that she has a human disguise so she can freely walk around Earth and not bring too much attention to herself. Besides the practicality of it, I think it's more chilling to have a human-looking being doing all these evil things than an outlandish monster. Personally, I think it's a little too much when the main villains and Big Bads have to pile on makeup and makeup for multi-episodes, such as Adam, my least favorite Buffy villain, and the Beast on Angel. I think it worked for the Master but that was an exception to the rule. We could show a glimspe of her demon self when she's first released, and then have her really show her true form in the finale.

As for what her human look should be, I see her as a woman in her fourties. I see her personality as cold and calculating, not very quipppy but more driven and really evil. IT would be like nothing we've ever seen in Buffy.

I suggest Lena Olin from Alias. I'll find a screencap or you could just type her name in yahoo.

A middle-aged female BB. And like you say, be cold and calculating. Methodical, and rarely showing any emotion. That way, when she does get angry, she gets *really* angry, y'know?

Exactly what I'm thinking. So when she does get angry we'll know it's a big deal! That's why I'm so glad we decided to into her in ep. 14 instead of 18, because I think she has the potential to be such an interesting character, one that we can really fleshed out.

But I forgot to mention, as for what her demon look should be like, I actually picture it really similar to the second link you had in the first post. I see her very much like that. That was a cool graphic!

How about a Medusa-look? None of that "turns people to stone by looking at them" crap, but pretty much the whole looking-human BB, but with snakes for hair. I just think it would be cool.

....her human look probably won't even debut in your episode because I figured she wouldn't adopt it until after she leaves Hell, but maybe at the end of your ep once she gets out of the Hellmouth. But I think if we want to give her a human look, it should be totally human. We could have snake-hair for the demon part of her, though.

Hard to explain, but it just makes her character more...real, you know? Plus, it makes the finale where she reveals her true form SO much more climactic and powerful. It's not "Been there, done that...great the same face we've seen for 8 episodes..." It would be so much more epic.

Yeah I agree with Faithsguy and Mark I see her as middle-aged also because it goes better with her cold personality, not all Cordelia-like, like Glory. Yeah lol as much as we all love the quips, i see her a lot more serious and conniving. It would make the occasional quips and outbursts that much more powerful.

See, because at the end of last season when Willow raised her temple, her effigy was covered in snakes. I figured that Prospectus was like a part snake demon or something. She would have a special affinity with them, or at least some sort of snake like connection. Like Natalie French is to bugs, I'll bet this Perspex gal is to snakes.

She was all...with the snakes and stuff. Plus, I have a lot of snake stuff with Proserpexa in my episode, i'm using them as her main weapon. I just figured it would make more sense if she was part snake demon...

I never thought of the image of her on the temple. Does anyone have access to a pic of that? That would really help! Yes we should stick to continuity so I guess she should be a snake demon. We should be careful not to make it too much like the Mayor or the Big Snake Monster after Dawn in a season 5 episode whose name I can't recall now.
But def. let's go with that for her demon aspect!

I can picture her human form having lots of regular snakes in a tank or something, too. lol whatever they're kept in.

If she's SO powerful, she's gonna be able to do that, isn't she?

As in - her snake look exists, and will do, but she hides it (unless she gets pissed off of course and it flutters out)

I see her kind of like the female Watcher in Revelations (what's her name?) but not British...And yeah - we HAVE to have a character big bad, if we're gonna make her likeable. The horsemen can be 2d - Propex/ has to be 3d, full surround sound etc, imo

Freaky, but v.v.cool...

OK, her human form is just a "glamour", right? Coz I could have her still weak at the end of my episode, so she appears more demony than she would do for the rest of the season...she's only got a short scene, and essentially she's running away...

She's not actually a human, I just think it would make sense she would use a human disguise so she could walk freely with the humans on the surface.

Have we decided on a personality type for Proserpexa yet? I kinda need to know, what with introducing her and all, I kinda wanna polish that last scene off but I can't until we've decided how she'll be portrayed...

Well you don't have to go too much into her personality if she;s just in one scene, but we were thinking very cold and calculated, not quippy or silly at all. Hey, I guess it would make sense since snakes are cold blooded! But not dorky like the Mayor or dramatic like Glory, just very cold: that's really the only way to describe it. The kind of person that wouldn't jump up and down in joy that she was free from the Hellmouth.

It makes sense, it does fit the cold snake personality. Also it makes her occasional outbursts and quips that much more important. You know if she's yelling she REALLY means business.

Ooh, and I had a thought about her back story...

OK, now there is a theory that all the major demons and whatnot in human mythology are based on real beings. Aliens if you will, but more than likely demons. In Buffy, anyway. Now, what if Medusa was real? But she was actually Proserpexa? Like, the monks that wrote history embellished stuff (turning people to stone with a look, for example), but the basis of Medusa was taken from Proserpexa.

I dont know how many people have seen the movie "Masters of the Universe" but she played Evil-Lyn. This is her in make up, she has a medusa type head dress on.

BTW, Lena Olin, who was suggested earlier, is in season 2 of Alias, she plays Laura Bristow, or Irina Derevko, or The Man...

I LOVE the idea of a forked tongue, very freaky! Would she have fangs and a poison bite too, just like other snakes?

Maybe she'd also have a hypnotic gaze, so that her enemies (and servents probably) can't look in her eyes. That would mean Buffy would have to be extra careful while fighting her, and it could relate to the legend that people looking at Medusa were turned to stone. They would have been frozen by her gaze.

The only thing about the poison bite is that I doubt anyone would get close enough to be bitten. And the hypnotic gaze thing could be pretty hokey unless we're careful how we write it.

If you remember thats what she would do to her enemy's. But I think we could go somewhere with this hypnotic power of hers, maybe if she could bite you then starring into her eyes would make you go into a trance. Maybe one of the scoobs would get bitten....hmmm.....

Until she tries to stake her and gets her a$$ kicked royally. Not to mention that the scoob who gets bit would be poisoned and not drained. That's only going to work if we don't let people know who the BB is as soon as she is summoned though. If we know who it is from the start (or even before she's raised) then Buffy's obviously not going to go for it.

I love Bunny's idea of her getting angry and showing her real hair too! That could make for a really nasty shock for the viewers!
