Author: Roxy [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 12:57:59 02/25/03 Tue hello to the people, Starting next Monday 3rd on NEAR FM I'll be presenting a weekly show called White Noise. It’s basically acting as a showcase for new Irish artists (and maybe international, that’s yet to be decided). (NEAR fm is a community station based in Coolock.) I know it’s something that’s being done on other stations but I think everyone would agree that there’s no harm in giving as much airplay as possible to new bands. I'll be featuring demos, EPs and the like and I'll have a live act in studio each week. I’ll also have interviews with organisations involved in the scene. This week coming, I'll have Mumblin Deaf Ro in to play a few toons and I'll hopefully have one of the lads from Phutloose on for a chat so it should be fun if nothing else. You can also look forward to in-studio sessions with the likes of Sundogs, Polar, Settler and many more as the weeks pass. It's 101.6fm, 10-11pm, Mondays. The station mainly broadcasts to north Dublin but it can be picked up in random out-of-range spots on the southside as is the way with magical radiowaves. If you're in town, it may be fairly sketchy but sure that's life. By the way, anyone who wants to contribute in any way is more than welcome to do so.
