What has happened? The club seems to have being bringing in a lot of new players which saw some godd results these past few weeks but it all seems to have gone wrong at Plymouth.
Is the club going to be in a fit state at the end of the season to move into the new ground and push for the top?

I think the problem is that the team keeps changing every week, theres no time for players to gel before they are "released". From what I've seen, there's no reason why players have been released to be replaced with some of the foreign rubbish we have signed.
While players are coming and going like this there is never going to be any consistancy and therefore no decent results. We may get the odd one or two flukey wins here and there, but flukey wins aint gonna get us to the premiership!
I dont think we will get relegated, but something needs to be done now to prepare for next season.
That new stadiums too smart to be playing in ND2!!

Thanks for that Alan.
I hope everything comes together. But over the last couple of years it seems that we start building for next year. Start the season with the best squad we have had and then by Christmas there are lots of changes. It would be nice to have a couple of seasons where the playing squad didn't really change. Otherwise we will end up like Worcester who have for the past 4 -5 years being runner up due the the large number of changes to the squad each year.

It would be nice to see more comment on this board otherwise you can't get the feel of the club from the website or papers.

Hope the weather's better where you are Simon. Have the locals finished licking their wounds, or have they all taken up 'Rules' now? ;o)

I missed the match on Saturday (house hunting in Chapelfields/Coundon!) so can't really comment. However, the feeling is that morale is rather shot at the moment, which is sad and strange considering the very resilient performance that they put in at Worcester the other week.
Like Al, I can't see the club being relegated, but it could be touch & go at the death.
It seems odd that now the team is practically full time, the performance levels seem to have gone downhill. I guess the fact that several players are pissed-off that they have to make a choice between full-time footy on non-prem wages, and their secure jobs, doesn't help, and I'd bet on a lot more comings & goings in the near future. I'd probably feel the same. There is already at least one casualty in a young and highly promising prop (who has understudied England props at the top level) who would rather carry on in his cable TV call-centre job than play full time. Doesn't say much, does it? God, I love this club - but I also despair deeply of it at times.

Current rumours/conjecture lead to the belief that the stadium will open for the home game against Wuss in April, with an 'Official Opening' against European Champs (and fellow Peugeot-shirts) Toulouse in August/September. Lets hope we are safe by then.

I'll also take this opportunity to apologise for the lack of updates to this site, which probably leads to the lack of use of this board. Those that know me, know that I have quite a few other things going on in my life at the mo which take priority over mere football. Hopefully I can put some of that behind me soon though, and develop the site a bit more and install a decent board while I'm at it.

Meanwhile, Simon, I don't know if you are aware of the existence of a ND1 board hosted by Richard Lowther at Wakey. Unfortunately just lately, all they seem to be able to do is play at predictions, which I find very boring. However, it CAN be quite lively, and is a good place to wind-up Bedford fans if you feel like it ;o). Unfortunately you can only wind-up one Wuss fan as the rest of them feel it's beneath them. Nothing new there then eh?
It's at www.leaguerugby.tk

Cheers, Steve

Thanks for that update. The house needs to be in Chaplefields so you don't have to stagger home so far...

Yes November was a very good month. We had 25 people around for a BBQ followed by the match via a projector. Lets just say there were 3 people in white shirts who were very happy at the end. With quite a few young yellow shirted people who couldn't believe what they had lost!!!
I went to all tghe matches here in Melbourne some of the pool matches were really good value ENG SAMOA 16 pounds for 2 adults & 2 children(up to 16)

This is the second Australian coach we have had at Coundon Road and both have been absolutely crap. They have no idea about Coventry Rugby Club and they coudn't care less.
The same goes for all those foreign players that have been brought in.They have no interest in the Coventry shirt, all they want is to play in this Country. It could be Coventry or Leicester or Nuneaton. As long as they play here thats all that matters to them. You can tell that by the way they perform,no interest and no passion.
With the squad as it is just now I recon Barkers would beat coventry.
Its heartbraking to see what is happening just now.On Saturday there was five players I recognised,I could have been anywhere. It wasnt like supporting Coventry it was like going to a local match while on Holiday somewhere.
I may be the only one feeling this way but thats how I feel.
I know things will improve and I look forward to that.
