Wow. That’s all I can say about Saturday night at Darwin’s for the release of “Sweet Southern Soul”. The atmosphere was great and so was the music. Liz couldn’t wipe the smile off her face while she was singing. It was a great time. And Liz deserves to have a crowd like that to perform for. That was my first time at Darwins but it won’t be the last. I came away with some great memories and some great pictures. I got to meet some other people who were big LMB fans as well. I especially liked the story of Ken and Kelly, who had met 5 years ago to the day while Liz was playing there. Great story.

But the best person I met was Liz’s number one fan, her mom. It was a pleasure to meet this fine lady and you could tell she was very proud of Liz. And as I heard Kelly tell Ms. Melendez, “we really love your girl”. And I believe Liz told me that her mom reads this board, so hi Ms. M. Hope you had a good trip back to NM and hope I will see you again. And by the way, I now know where Liz gets her energy from. Ms. M was up and dancing with the 20 and 30 somethings several times. :-) Any way, it was great to meet her.

Darwins was a great place to listen to live music. For me there are few things more enjoyable that sitting in a small club like that listening to great music played with great passion. And I got a whole lot of that Saturday night. Keep it up Liz. All of us want to see you pick up that Grammy some day. And when you do, I'm going to try and be there to see it live.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. The CD. I listened to it all the way back to Chattanooga on Sunday. And again, all I can say is WOW. Your first CD was good, but this one is much better in my opinion as it should be. All the songs were great and the musicianship was what I have come to expect from LMB, simply outstanding. Can’t wait to have my friends listen to it.

Hope to see you again soon Liz. Keep on chasin’ the dream.

Your friend and fan,

-Bill-
