GINGERBREAD CAKE

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 c. hot water


Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes (until toothpick, inserted, comes out clean) Let cool (but not completely) and drizzle with glaze.

GLAZE

1/3 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 to 4 tbsp. hot water

Heat butter until melted. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until smooth and of desired consistency.
