The main thing i know about this is that when someone praises or acknowledges me, no matter how I "try" to take it in, as they say, it really only penetrates skin deep. I don't really feel anything. But when someone criticizes, insults or attacks me, it can fill my whole sensorium and really reverberate! That really sucks!

despite this i have a capacity to feel loved. It just can only come in as a sort of atmospheric condition. it's really weird. individual expressions of positive response to me can delight me in some way, but they don't somehow convince my heart, whereas negative expressions sure do. pretty sick when i look at it that way....
