Cassie, your words,"a loner by preference and a pleaser when I had to be in the company of others" describe me too, except I never did the pleaser part very well because I was too rebellious and angry. And socialize? Never had a clue.

I just love what you say about the NEW AGE AGREEMENT, though I see it as more pervasive than that, and far older. This is actually a personal crusade of mine, in a way, to stand as that which counters that agreement, to show up in its presence as "realer than thou" and this is BOTH an expression of my Goddess nature, AND an expression of my addiction. And that is a tight squeeze I may live in for the rest of my life! But I do hope the "realer than thou" part can soften and come clean as I integrate, because there is a lot of defensiveness in it, and making the other wrong in order to assert what feels so bloody right and generally unseen.
