Subject: What can I use live???

I play drums in a popular cover band that now wishes to add some sort of sequenced , loop bassed thing (? - yeah , I know) into our live show. I just want to be able to push a button or step on a pedal , and start a loop , a sequence , or some kind of pulse that will kind of allow us to "cop the vibe" of the song we're covering.

I've been using the search function , but I haven't come up with much at all. I'm looking (or hoping ) for something that is an "all in one box" solution. All we need is something that will play shaker , and dance music type sounds that I can play along with. Man , I know this isn't a good explaination , but I've been up a long time and my brain isn't working right - sorry.

What are drummers using to do this? I know this can be done without me having to bring my Roland sequencer MIDI'd to a rack of sound modules! I also have an Alesis SR-16 , but the sounds and memory just aren't up to speed. Hopefully we can find something for no more than $1000.00.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...
