Do you know about Colin Wilson's relation with Maslow and how they differed on this issue ? Maslow's position was that P.E. happens to us (the healthy ones) and is not under our control, but rather a biproduct of being well adjusted. Colin Wilson proposed that P.E. can be induced at will and supports his argument by Hussrel's work on the 'Intentionality of Perception'....You might want to check out a great book by Wilson where he discusses this subject extensively :"New Pathways In Psychology" ...or go to Wilson's sight....I have been into this for sometime and exprimented with it perspnally....Believe me it can be done but there are some prerequisetes..... I am currently writing about this...It is a subject that touches the core of my life...
