I read 'Conversations with God' by Neale Donald Walsch, the books help answer these questions for me.
This is how I interpret them but my answers keep changing, developing, moving, growing, expanding, it's fun.

1. To have fun.
2. Because of free will or choice.
Because of ignorance or greed.
For balance or fun.
Ask, etc.
3. If only the body dies, you're the same 5 minutes after as you were 5 minutes before. Then the fun begins, again.

"Everything in this book could be wrong." another quote, from 'Illusions' by Richard Bach.

Sorry, I'm quoting others but their truth does work for me when I remember, to BE and to ask.
