Subject: Walk along the Mariner's Path

Hi all,

I live in Portishead (at the top of Nore Road) and I took a walk along the Mariner's Path from Recliffe Bay to the Black Nore light the other evening and it inspired me to research what I had seen.

In doing so I found this site and thought you'd appreciate a few pictures.

The Black Nore light - I'm not sure when it was put there but I think it was circa 1930's?

Turning around nearly 180 degrees the Nautical School comes into view. This is the only point you can see the building from the Mariner's Path due to the thick undergrowth at the bottom of the grounds.

And here are a few images of postcards showing the BTS Formidable moored off Portishead Pier, and a picture of the NNS dated circa 1920's I think

I hope this of interest to your members. Let me know if there is anything else you want photographed and I'll see what I can do!!

regards,

Alex
