Of course, saying something is "not necessary" is different from saying it is verboten.

That same old quote from the WT! Anti-Jehovah's Witnesses seem to use the same quotes over and over to prove various things. It is almost like they have not read our publications and they simply repeat what they have seen quoted elsewhere...

Doug Harris quoted as an authority on Jehovah's Witness practice???

Jehovah's Witnesses can and do read a variety of sources. MOre than many Evangelicals I would venture to suggest. In fact, Vince admitted elsewhere that he knows of Jehovah's Witnesses who do so, but seems to wish to ignore the fact here. Whatever serves to perpetuate the stereotype I suppose...
