JWs have the highest rate of mental and
emotional illness of all the religions studied. As I recall it wasn't clear if they simply are able to fool and convert more mentally ill than healthy people into their cult, or if healthy people become deranged from all the
stress after they join the Watchtower Society. The mentally ill do NOT become well after becoming JWs. That the JWs suffer unusual stress and unhappiness is well known.
