I know I have mentioned this book on the board here a few weeks back in the discussion on spiritualism, but I thought I would mention a little more about it here.

I am just over half way through reading this book at them moment and am finding it fascinating.

The author (not a Christian) spent many years researching mediums and spiritualists. Skeptical at first, he tried to keep an objective researcher's distance between himself and the guides until eventually getting lured in. Lots of the facts the guides spoke of seemed to add up. Even by checking external sources such as newspapers etc. he found that much added up and could be verified. He was therefore on the road to being convinced that the entities who spoke through the channel (a lady called Aviva) were what they claimed to be - e.g. air pilots from WWII, a lady from ancient Greece, etc. However, as time went on, he found that some of the facts just did not add up. After challenging the entities he slowly came to the conclusion that these things are real but that they are not what they claim to be. His conclusion? I jumped ahead a bit hear and sneaked a peek! - Possibly demons, as the Bible declares, certainly not the things they claim to be. Spirits that lie.

I only recently found out that the authour commited suicide soon after this book was published.
