It's March. That horrid armpit of a month smack dab in the middle of everything.

The hellish middle of the semester.
The evil spring winter mixture that makes it impossible to know how to dress.

And it makes me ponder why I am suffering through this horrid mess called college. Why bother? No one can get a job...degree or not.

Bleck.

Dropping out looks better and better.

Well, SOMEBODY'S got senioritis.

But come on. march is WAY better than february, the redheaded stepchild of months, where everything is cold and grey and horribly, horribly AWFUL. You're still fat from the holidays, spring seems like something that is only in allergy medicine commercials, and if you're from the midwest, there's all. that. fucking. snow.

My advice? Chemically alter yourself in some way--booze is fine--and run screaming down Green Street saying, "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! IN TWENTY TO FIFTY YEARS! I *AM* THE DUCK-BILLED PLATYPUS!"

Then head back to your apartment, and following the sage advice of Weird Al Yankovic, stick your head in a watermelon.

Move to New Orleans. March is lovely here. I've kept my windows open for almost two solid weeks now without closing them for anything. It's usually sunny, warm, and not overwhelmingly humid. Yes, the mosquitoes are coming out, but they're not too bad yet. In summer all people will need to stay sticky with DEET at all times to avoid *most* of the mosquitoes--we will still get bitten on any scrap of skin a mosquito can find. But that's not until SUMMER, and summer is at least a month away! Right NOW it's lovely. The flowers are blooming. I can keep my windows open all the time and not need AC. Next month when the termites swarm I'll need to close them up of course, but NOW it's nice here. Flowers are blooming. Horticulture jobs are plentiful at the zoo...
