Employment trends do NOT change on a dime. And nothing bad ever happens on anyone's watch!!
Just-in-time purchasing is a bogus concept that creates artificial blips and dips in staffing and production. It is a tortise-and-hare analogy with the tortise in control, and we know who won that race. OR rather who lost that race.
Planned obsolesance also distorts employment markets. Heaven forbid someone should repair something or have it last longer than the manufacturer/vendor/credit extendor planned.
Has anyone noted that Klipsch and MacIntosh are still (again?) making products that look like the originals. Kplipsch Horns rock. (Whoo Hoo, Hope, Arkansas!!) And MacIntosh is reissuing/still making it tube amplifiers -- put two together, and one has stereo! Heck of a lot easier to replace a tube -- and they glow in the dark!
