*On Sunday, May 29, 2022 Ava Lee Ernst of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota was chosen as Miss Minnesota Teen-USA 2022 over twenty other statewide teenagers at the Ames Center in Burnsville, Minn. after placing second runner-up in the 2021 state teen pageant last year.

Her mother is pageant coach and UW-Madison graduate Holly Lee Henderson Ernst, formerly of Phillips, Wisconsin. The blonde vocalist previously competed at Miss Wisconsin in Oshkosh as the first-ever Miss Northwoods regional winner in 1992 (made top ten), and then as Miss Southeastern Wisconsin in 1994 after winning that state at-large competition in Kenosha and placed fourth runner-up to Miss Green Bay, Laura Jean Voss (Miss Wisconsin 1994).

Holly was also the appointed Wisconsin representative for the nationally televised 1993 Miss United States World pageant held in El Paso, Texas which was produced by GuyRex and Associates (owners Richard Guy and Rex Holt were the longtime Miss Texas-USA state director, 1977 to 1992). Holly did not place in that competition. She was also first runner-up to Kimberly Totdahl at the 1991 Miss Wisconsin-USA pageant held in Milwaukee. Ava Lee Ernst will join Miss Wisconsin Teen-USA 2022, Sage Gundelly of Mequon (who won her title in Middleton on May 8, 2022) at the 2022 Miss Teen-USA pageant this November.

*It was announced this spring with this news story in the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune (April 26, 2022) that the Miss Wisconsin Rapids pageant will now include a Miss Wisconsin Rapids' Outstanding Teen competition.

The Miss Wisconsin Rapids and the inaugural Miss Wisconsin Rapids' Outstanding Teen pageant will be staged on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Performing Arts Center in Wisconsin Rapids.

After all these years and nearly all Miss Wisconsin local city pageant's have been crowning Outstanding Teen winners, finally Wisconsin Rapids will send an entrant to the Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen pageant (June 2023) in Oshkosh.
