i'm pretty sure vs takes place long after tactics, given that you can get ahold of an agrias balm that is reputed to have been "worn by the holy knight agrias during the zodiac brave story" or somesuch.
i think vagrant story and alazam may be contemporaries of eachother, which would make sense given the societal changes that we observe to have taken place between the two games.
