I agree with you totally with many of your points Kyle. Many of the Canadian athletes that go away to school should never have left Canadian soil in the first place. I have listeded to Canadaian athletes come home and blame the experience on the Coach or School they attended and it frustrates me. We have some very good coaches right here in Ontario. The Club system is well established and some athletes should stay with it. In the NCAA if you cannot get behind the team you run for and at times set aside your own goals for the betterment of the team you will have a very difficult time making it. Look at Kevin Sullivan. Everybody know's what a great athlete he was going into Michigan. Kevin won some titles had some fun and has a great degree. Some questioned his development at Michigan. That is nuts. Kevin has blossemed into one of the Worlds greatest milers. Maybe Kevin would have made it a little quicker, who cares Kevin went in and ran hard for himself, his school and his country. The order of his priorities only he know's. The athletes that are not back in the system after graduation is very frustrating to me. Your point about athletes that left school and improved in the situation at home are great examples of the never say die attitude that is required to allow Canadians to gain world respectability. I hope the current group of Canadian Juniors that travel south of the border, go in with the attitude that they will do whatever it takes to graduate running at a very high level. Ok I am going on and on....Later
