I agree completely. Who knows if the four minute miler has even been training for cross the guys that are training are going to represent much better and also cross and indoor require so much different training a 4 means nothing on the course. I don't think that Tergat says "oh I ran 3:45, now I can go win world cross."
This is one of the reasons the Kenyans dominate, they have a group of guys that train specifically for cross, and USUALLY the guys on the cross team don't run many world track championships.
