I have decided to make a public announcement of a new approach I am taking.

Good day everyone,
Some of you will probably wonder what happened to the Conversations with God group I have initiating a few months ago. After much reflection, I have an answer for it:
1) The Conversations with God study group will be discontinued.
2) To take its place, I am creating a Reflections about Living group, which expands on the spirit of CWG in a form acceptable by most people. You can view and join it at http://creation.is.dreaming.org/

Neale Donald Walsch has inspired me, along with many people, to wake up and see a different reality. He has introduced many concepts that has created a profound understanding for many others, including myself. And he has rallied for everyone to come forth and be a messenger for their own expression of the New Spirituality.
Thus, it is time for me to bring forth new messages, to sing new melodies, in harmony with my calling. From here onwards, I am going to expand on the work of many others including NDW.

The new group will work with 3 concepts:
1) Reflection and choosing
Action without choice is meaningless. Doing without knowing has no ownership. Achievement without vision just keeps one busy.
This aspect focuses on uncovering the intentions behind thoughts and action. As one intends, it is expressed into thought, and then translated into action. We will ask, "why".
"Why do we behave like that?"
"Why do we think like that?"
"Upon what frame of mind (i.e. intention), did one create such thoughts?" "Upon what type of thoughts, did one create such behaviors?"
Members will receive opportunities to develop awareness of the intent, thoughts, words, deed cycle. After this, they can then choose to change their lives. Because then, they can see the possibility of alternatives, when none has existed before.
2) Releasing of old ideas
Before one can fill a bottle with new water, one must pour the old water away. Before one can take on new thoughts, one must release the old thoughts.
This aspect deals with emotion work. As emotions are key influences of our lives, we must take care of our emotional selves too. When we develop a mature acceptance of ourselves, and resolve the emotional issues of our lives, then we become free to choose freshly again. Where previously we react out of reflex actions from buried emotions of our lives, we now act out of our newly chosen intentions.
Members will receive opportunities to undergo releasing to remove thoughts that do not serve them. This allows them to confront the rejected parts of themselves, resolve the issues and then accept them. By accepting themselves, they can then accept their full potential, together with other people who remind them of the previously rejected part of themselves.
3) Embracing new thought
One cannot build what one cannot see, but it becomes easy when they have seen it.
It was hard for people to build airplanes when they have only seen birds fly. For many thousands of years people tried to copy birds without much success. The Wright brothers changed that, by showing us a working demonstration of a truly different way of flying. Within a century, we have jumbo planes and fighter jets.
This aspect deals with the intellectual work of creating and working with new possibilities. Members will have the opportunity to view and discuss materials relating to such new possibilities. These include books such as the "Conversations with God" series and the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and thought provoking multimedia materials. And then, we will ask "Why not?"

The reflection group will function similarly to the previous CWG study group. It will retain a decentralized structure where members take charge of their own personal empowerment. Members will also help in running the group, developing materials and so forth.
The group works on:
1) Creating a conducive environment for inner work: Rather than just speeches or group games, we will employ multimedia aids, new materials and novel approaches.
2) Providing a more complete approach in helping people to change their lives: We aim to create everlasting change through addressing a larger aspect of people rather than simply showing new possibilities.
3) Providing a platform for experimenting with new concepts, thinking and methods: As long as they satisfy minimal safety and legal requirements and with the consent of participants, members can feel free to contribute their own materials and conduct their own activities.

At first I thought of setting up a study group on CWG to share with people the deeper meaning of CWG and help them apply it. Just that it did not feel exactly right to me, but I did not know how to put my finger on it. It also seems that people seem interested but strangely do not bother to attend.
I did not bother to reframe it as a success, but that I got what I wanted. Obviously, this is not exactly what I had in mind. So I left it to consider it more.
One day, the trinity of change [i.e. releasing the old, reflection and choosing, embracing the new] hit me. And I quickly wrote it down. That was when I made the slides introducing the concept in 1.5 hours. So I still have something like a discussion group, but the impact and the scope is much larger. It is now a reflection group.
The intentions and objectives are roughly still the same, but expanded. I have decided that CWG and study groups are too limiting. I do not think they work the way to provide the results I intend.
Has the concept of "God" brought people closer together or further from each other today? I would say further away, in general. Those who believe and disbelieve, and those who believe differently often cannot talk to or hear each other.
How well do study groups help bring people closer to themselves? Not too well. It often gives people something to say, but nothing of true substance to hold on.
The same goes for myself. I previously intended to awaken people and asked myself from that question. But closer to today, I intend to awaken the world. This is only possible by bringing everyone together. So I decided that I am going to bring the new messages of unity, to act as a bridge between the separated (and often warring) islands of people.
And so I ask myself:
Is the work I am doing, going to bring people closer together or further?
And I choose my work, and my message, based on that. That is why I deemphasized on "New Age", on "CWG", and on study groups. Not because I don't like them, but because they do not serve me in this aspect.

The group is still in an infancy stage. For the past 2 months, I have discussed and tested some ideas with various people. These include some of my friends and also my colleagues at my work place. I have reflected on many aspects of the group and brainstormed with some friends, most notably Siyun, on the different aspects of the group.
Siyun is a co-founder of the volunteer club "Keep Hope Alive". She and her partner Cleo has been featured once on Channel U concerning their volunteer club.
We are now preparing to create a programme for a 2 hour workshop and do a run trial run with our friends on Sunday, 19 Sep 2004. Within the next month, we intend to do a trial run with interested members of her volunteer club.
We would need equipment, like notebooks and projectors, to run the group over the long term. I am working to pool together (and repair) our available resources to make it happen.
Christopher has proven very helpful in supplying us with materials and useful links that we can use for the group.
I would also like to thank Clara for her support in helping to find us members and providing advice.
Not forgetting a generous shop owner for agreeing in principle to host our sessions and lending us some equipment. As we have not confirmed any times, I will only announce this later.

For those interested, here is a short explanation of why I made a break with CWG's paradigm.
1) I intend to bridge people of the world into a new unified awareness of living and life. Messages coming from the concept of God will not serve me in that.
God is one word removed from life and living. It is an old concept the Ancient Masters have used to help people awaken to what cannot be understood in thought and words. After many millennium, this concept has acquired a lot of associations with it. Having to deal with every one of these concepts, including from those who call themselves atheists, makes my work difficult.
On top of that, this concept has a foundation that confuses people - the understanding of living is made complicated by the idea of a separate omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent being, plus the implied requirement of belief. This greatly hinders my work. For me, it is easier to drop the bicycle trainer wheels of "God" and embrace directly the concept of living.
2) CWG still has an emphasis of the spiritual aspect - the part beyond the physical. A complete unified understanding of life does not necessarily require us to express our messages from the spiritual aspect. The wisdom of living is also accessible from the "ground up" rather than the "top down". As many people still have issues about accessing from the "top down", I would prefer to use the method of "ground up".
3) CWG has already impacted the life of many people. The messages brought in this form is reaching its limits. I am going to bring new messages that will continue to renew our awakening to the world.
All in all, I am not coming from a position of truth. The intention of the concept of truth is to draw lines to separate concepts into those that fit in to our view of the world and those which does not.
For me, the question is not what is true. The question is what we intend to create. The concept of truth misleads us by creating unnecessary demands we place on working with the world (i.e. demanding that something is true before we will even consider working with it).

My intention is to wake people up, and bring them together. The group I create is not a fact finding group. Neither is it a study group.
It is a group that works with intentions, emotions and new perspectives, with the intention of awakening members and developing empathy with others.
