I see and work with the local shelter and Humane society here... and I hate the amount of animals being put down and left on the streets to suffer... but ya also gotta consider the source: "The bill — sponsored by Assemblyman Lloyd Levine, a Democrat from Southern California who is also pushing to phase out the incandescent light bulb".

So, this is on a different note, but it shows the type of person(s) in the legislature that is pushing this. He simply does not do any digging. Case in point... the light bulb thing. Yay! Go Green!, Less power used, ....uh, huh. What he does not tell you is that the caution/warning , right on the package states in effect, "High freq interefrence may result". I bought one, to try. Put it in as the floodlight on the outside of the garage. Yep..... at night when it's on.... it messes up the gragage door opener. Not an option at my house where my wife's back and neck will not allow her lift/pull anyting. Oh, and satellite TV reception goes out the window due to the interference when the bulb is on. Here in Texas they are highlighting the high amount of mercury these things have in them vs a normal light.

What I'm saying is, this assemblyman, is pushing a quick/neato sounding fix. One sadly that does not alleviate the high animal population nor treat just causes/uses properly.

My 2 cents.... good discussion, though.....
