Subject: yes I am using Merrick at the moment

but you're right - it's expen$ive.
Did you happen to notice the Costo Kirkland brand? It's right up there with the best.
Since I rotate through 5-6 'good brands' - something like Merrick is not something I do constantly. My dogs are just not picky and will eat ANYTHING. The only ones I've had problems with are AvoDerm (gave Mack significant diarrhea) and The Wellness super-duper recipe......they turned up their noses.
I just love the idea of variety and balance over time.....for instance; there are wild blackberries all over the place (Oregon) and Mack has decided he's a bear. We have walked past this particular vine for weeks. The berries are big and black, sweet and full of juice. Mack, every so gently (thorns ya know!) picks a berry off the vine as we walk by and eats it. I only let him have one.
